Charity Cup 2023 Recipients

November 2023 — The Dublin Charity Cup is pleased to announce that eight children’s charities and programs will share in donations totaling $35,000—proceeds from this year’s soccer tournament. These charities include:

The annual tournament is held over Labor Day weekend in Dublin, Ohio and has been supporting children’s charities for over 33 years.  More than $825,000 has been donated since the Dublin Charity Cup’s inception in 1989. We are proud to continue this tradition and look forward to our 2024 event that will be held August 31st – September 1st at Darree Fields.

The Dublin Charity Cup is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dublin Soccer League. Both are 501 c3 organizations.

Charity Cup 2022 Recipients

DEC. 13, 2022 — The 2022 Dublin Charity Cup soccer tournament is pleased to announce that $25,000 was contributed to five local charities in time for the holidays. The Charity Cup is hosted by the Dublin Soccer League in cooperation with the City of Dublin and is presented by The Smile Shoppe at Dublin Orthodontics.  

The Charities receiving $5000 each include Feed the Kids Columbus, Dublin Food Pantry, Dublin One, Family Mentor Foundation and Festa.  Nearly $790,000 has been contributed to local charities by the Dublin Charity Cup since the tournament began in 1989. 

Below is a list of donation recipients with links for individual contributions:   

Feed the Kids Columbus – This 501c3 organization provides meals and snacks to fight childhood hunger in Central Ohio.  In partnership with the community, local schools & businesses, Feed the Kids Columbus currently works with 16 Dublin City Schools.    https://www.feedthekidscolumbus.com/  

Dublin Food Pantry – The pantry has been providing food, hygiene products, and resources to hungry individuals and families in the community for over 46 years. Serving multiple zip codes and counties within the City of Dublin and Dublin City Schools District, the Pantry will move its operation to 6608 Dublin Center Dr. in 2023 to serve more families at this larger location.  https://www.dublinfoodpantry.org/

One Dublin – Formerly the Welcome Warehouse, this community non-profit helps families in the Dublin City School district and City of Dublin who are temporarily in need.  For 15 years, they have worked with school counselors, clergy, and other social service organizations to ensure basic needs of children and their families are met with dignity and compassion.   

Family Mentor Foundation – During the 2021-2022 school year, the Foundation provided over 61,000 Buddy Boxes to 1,600 students weekly in 34 Central Ohio schools throughout the school year. A Buddy Box is a box filled with kid-friendly, nutritious, nonperishable, individual sized-food items that are easy for children to eat or prepare on their own. These meals and snacks help sustain children on the weekends when they are not in school where they receive school breakfast & lunch. Over 2,000 kids are on the wait list for this program. 

Festa – Helping hungry kids and their families working their way out of poverty, Festa brings stability to families by connecting them to resources and their community. Local neighbors and churches partner to demonstrate the gospel through their service and by building relationships with people in need. https://wearefesta.org/
